Shaldon Kopman began a career into the world of fashion; as a model. Travelling both internationally and on the continent exposed and acquainted him with the business of fashion. While living in NYC a passion and an eye for fashion styling revealed itself forging a successful path into the limelight. On his return to Johannesburg, with his learning and experience garnered Shaldon was soon snapped up as fashion editor for publications including Y Mag, Elle and Tribute, as well as contributing to many other periodicals over the decade. Within this period Shaldons expertise was called upon to style and art direct a plethora of ad campaigns and publicity shoots for South Africas growing list of celebs in all areas of the entertainment industry, along with commercial shoots across the continent and beyond. His ability to understand and then creatively illustrate and communicate the ideas of a growing African fashion industry to a wide audience and induce appreciation and interest did not go unnoticed; and he was soon creative directing clothing ranges as well as producing fashion shows for some of Africas most prestigious designers on the ramps of South African Fashion Week, African Fashion Week, and Anglo Platinum to name a few.

Bruno Mungofa’s fashion career began when he partnered with founder Cecilia Mungofa to form Studio 05 School of Fashion in 2003. Bruno studied web design and after graduating joined the “waiting list” of unemployed graduates. When Cecilia offered him the opportunity to join her at Studio 05, Bruno was captivated by all things fashionable. With a design background it was only a matter of time before his design skills were altered to suit fashion design. His interest grew as he learned everything within the business of fashion from design to construction and it was during this time that it became evident that he had set his sights on the fashion industry. A lot of hard work and effort has gone into honing not only his design skills but also learning to impart knowledge onto learners, having to at times be a student himself. The result of which is him now lecturing in Design Theory, Textile and CAD. Bruno is also the co-owner of apparel brand, 1EXIT Apparel, an urban clothing line that came to life in 2002. 1EXIT Apparel is representative of a brand whose inspiration derives from having a form of escape from a conformist style of every day city life.
